What is the supplementary panel

The supplementary panel is a route for teachers to access permanent teaching posts. Any permanent positions left after CID and the main panel must be offered to people on the relevant supplementary panel before they can be advertised openly.

Application Process

Applications must be submitted on the specified form by 19 December 2025. There is NO leeway for late applications.

    • Teachers must provide proof of their Teaching Council registration, with no outstanding conditions, and meet salary and service requirements.
    • Completed forms are accepted only by post and late applications will not be considered.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Teaching Council Registration: Full registration without conditions must be completed by the deadline.
  • Salary Thresholds: Minimum gross earnings of €36,750 (pre-2011 appointments) or €33,400 (post-2011 appointments) in 2025. The salary threshold can be pro-rated on a case by case basis for part time teachers. It can also be adjusted if you took maternity leave or similar last year.
  • Increment Points: Applicants must meet specific salary scale points depending on their appointment date. Adjustments apply for maternity/adoptive leave and part-time contracts.
    • Essentially, teachers must have progressed 3 points on the salary scale to be eligible. If the teacher has been previously in a permanent or CID role, those 3 points must be after the resignation from that role. (or 2 points and a contract to the end of the year)
    • Pre 2011 teachers must be on at least point 5 of the scale, if they started on point 2, and point 6 of the scale if they started on point 3.
    • Post 2011 teachers must be on point 4 or higher of the scale OR be on point 3 with a contract until the end of the 25/26 school year.

Panel Area Selection:

  • Applicants must select a panel area (a specific diocesan panel, Educate Together Panel, CNS panel or An Foras Patrunachta panel) based on the majority of their teaching service in 2025 or current contract.
  • Once selected, the panel area cannot be changed.

Notification:

  • Applicants will be informed of their application status by May 2025 or soon after.
